DLC.
No game will ever come complete on a disc again, no. Fuckin', Seth Killian talked about how DLC is developed and sometimes finished before a game's release.
If so, PUT IT ON THE FUCKIN DISC.
I'm tired of that shit dude. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of being nickel and dimed for already over priced software. I remember when 50 bucks was an expensive game.
Now, fucking CONTROLLERS cost that much.
Got a Wii? Well you gonna have to buy the remote and nunchuck SEPARATELY. Yeah, the god damned controller you have to use in tandem is sold in two fuckin' parts.
What about these Microsoft points? Ever notice how they come in amounts that NEVER equal the shit you wanna buy? There's always either not enough, thus forcing you to buy even more points, or too much, thus making you buy points you don't need or want when you've got some left over that's not enough to get ANYTHING.
Fuck that shit.
Now, how about these new disc hubs in the newer game boxes? The kind that threaten to chip and crack the inside of your disc whenever you pop it off. Lemme tell you somethin' there kiddies, that's a conspiracy. That's made that way on purpose so that you'll eventually break your disc, and have to buy another one. The kind of inside cracks on that ring can't be fixed, that shit is gone.
And these games with no split screen. They're made to force people who want to play together to each have their own Xbox 360s, each a copy of the game, and each a Gold account. Microsoft just doubled their profits there cause you and your buds wanna play MW2 together.
Fuck the Game Companies. I bet they can't even see that they're forcing people to hurt their own business with all this bullshit by pirating games and stuff.
I'm a gamer. My earliest memory is playing SNES, really, that's the first thing that ever logged into my permanent memory, and I've been a pretty loyal and productive consumer for over a decade, but if shit keeps going the way it's going, I'm gonna start playing sports or something.

I couldnt agree with you more, and I'll actually take it a step further and tie it in with a rant of my own. Its getting to the point now to where DLC falls into two categories: things that are actually BETTER than the original game (or at least something that would have made the overall experience better) or DLC that is pure overpriced shit. You spend roughly 800 MSP for some hyped DLC, and you download it and play it only to discover, to your horror, you've entered the one of two realms. if you enter the better realm, you question why in the hell wasnt this released WITH the game in the first place? if its the bad realm, you are absolutely livid that you just spent 20-25 bucks and wasted all that time downloading something that is just shit.

Which leads me to rant one, the newest sin of DLC...games coming out that are actually LOCKED. LOCKED! Madden 10 is a PERFECT example! I mean most of the modes that you SHOULD be able to play you cant even play it because EA had the brilliant idea of leaving most of the shit locked away. You've forked over 65 bucks for a game, only to discover you need an additional 25 to 30 bucks just to get the full experience! I mean wtf?! Who....WHO could of possibly looked at this and said "yea this is a good idea lets charge players to get the most out of something that was already in the game to begin with the previous years". its ludicrous i tell you....bad enough games are becoming over priced (DJ Hero anyone?) but now you dont even have the option anymore to play a game as is they are so bare bones now that you are either forced to miss out on a good game, play a watered down one, or spend all your money on DLC that might not even be worth it.

As for rant two, the ULTIMATE sin of DLC...releasing all of the DLC on one disk AFTER charging people for it in the first place. This shit should get people killed. Its what I've been calling the Gears of War 2 rule. I hardly ever buy a game when it first comes out. The reason being that you can be guaranteed that within a few months that it will be re-released with all of these new fancy features that were originally available over xbox live, psn, etc. GoW2 had SO MANY maps that you could buy over Live only to have them all come out on a disc, and Halo 3 actually closed off matches if you didnt have the right maps, only to not only wait damn near 2-3 years to release it all with ODST, but to actually open up damn near EVERY playlist!

The ultimate part about it is that the new release is actually CHEAPER than the original! Don't get me wrong I'm anxious for SSF4, but did anyone else besides me feel violated when Capcom came out and said that "hey for all you people that bought SF4 get this: we're releasing the game with better balance, more characters, new ultras, costumes (i think if you already have the first set they come free on the new one not sure though) announcers...everything! oh yea we forgot to mention its going to be alot cheaper than the 65 bones you guys paid at first!". -_-

I totally agree, DLC is the biggest piece of shit ever, WHATS worse then that, FAN BOYS Seriously I mean I consider myself almost borderline Street fighter Fanboy just becuase Its the only fighting game ive liked but when it comes to consoles I MEAN... SHIT A CONSOLES A CONSOLE, IDC if 360 does this or PS3 cant do THAT...that all I dont want to get to into it. I mean the console Wars are over I mean the only real console wars was the SNES,SEGA and N64, Play station days. where the console actually decided what game you played and what kind of games you where playing. I mean Seriously Ps3 and Xbox 360 do the same shit pretty much same game or one just like it.

You have alot of balls to say that and I respect and agree with it. I mean I hear it so much "PS3 is King" or "360 is King" or whatever console. I mean lets face it there are minor differences between a 360 and PS3 and so many games are shared and ideas are twisted between developers that, much like with the whole tier thing, its all about preference. Just as you can sit there and point out flaws of a 360 you can do the same for a PS3. Now back when the PS2 and Xbox were around in their earlier lifespan it was truly competition...but ESPECIALLY back in the days of SNES vs Sega. The problem with a fanboy is that they are often blind to the faults of their obsession and over critical of anything opposite of what they are not obsessed with or what they dont agree with.

What has really been pissing me off lately are these morbidly depressed people. I mean they are never happy! no matter what they mope or cry or complain or criticize EVERYHING! You can give them a million dollars tax free no frills money and lay down a hot clean willing freaky chick and i bet they would find something wrong with it. Probably the worst of these are the complainers in gaming but they keep playing. i mean if its so bad just shut up and take it or shut up and quit but just shut up! i mean when i was playing FN4 the online play was SO terrible that i complained and i took my own advice and quit playing. then a patch came out and its all gravy. it still can get bad but i just accept it. and gears of lag...i mean gears of war used to be a great game but with all the cheats glitches and lag issues i finally let that game go as well. what good does it do to sit here and complain about a game or situation yet you are STILL playing it or in it...especially if you have the ability to quit!

Don't even get me started on HALO3 man, don't even.
That was where it all started for me.
I played that game, a lot. I liked it, and I liked this cool new mode, SWAT.
Then a bit of time passes (not much mind you cause they're all about gettin their money quick as they can while still leaving time for "demand") and some DLC maps are released.
Now, I can't play anything. ANYTHING, without BUYING more shit. It's like I paid 60 for the game, demo'd it for a while, then to continue enjoying the product I need to keep paying, like a fucking subscription. Honestly, there was two playlists you could play on without the latest DLC.
I was actually talking to a friend of mine a bit, and we somehow got onto the consoles becoming PCs. Especially the PS3 ads where you're assured "It only does everything".
That's cool, but nigga if I wanted to surf the net, watch movies, view pictures, listen to music, and DL tv shows and shit I'd get on the damn computer.
I understand that it's not the worst idea, to make a machine capable of doing all kinds of stuff, hell the cellphone companies stumbled onto that nugget of a plan long ago. Now it seems like the primary function of the product is downplayed or even ignored. Phones don't even mention among their huge list of what it can do, make phone calls. I hope the Console doesn't go this way.

i think its already too late. things now are so much about "features" and everything that they forget the initial aspect of the original design. i mean yea now you can play just about all the modes on H3 but trust me i know how infuriating it was to be playing the game only to have it locked.
